Google's New Live Wallpapers: Get It On Any Marshmallow Device

Google worked with design agency B-Reel to create some unique wallpapers for its Pixel and Pixel XL flagships, and the end result is quite stunning. These "Live Earth" wallpapers, as they're called, combine Google Earth's high-def satellite imagery with a 3D parallax effect that changes perspective as you move between screens. Thanks to one hardworking developer, Pranav Pandey over at XDA, anyone with an Android smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above can enjoy these new wallpapers, without root. Here’s how:

Prerequisites

  • Device With ARM64 Processor
  • Marshmallow (Android 6.0) upwards
  • Google Wallpapers APK: Download Here
  • Pixel Wallpapers Ported APK: Download Here

Steps To Follow

1. Download and Install Google Wallpapers APK from here
2. Install The Pixel Wallpapers APK from here. The file is rather large (at 160 MB) so give it time to download and install, since it includes the necessary libraries for it to work.
3. Open the Google Wallpapers App and scroll down to "Live Wallpapers". From there select your new Live Wallpaper.

Note To Users: Depending on your device, you may also set these live wallpapers as your lock screen wallpaper. The developer has also given a warning that the wallpapers might cause some battery drain depending on the chipset your device packs but this is normal with all live wallpapers. Depending on the chipset again, the wallpapers might lag, so not to be rude but don’t expect your MTK devices to perform buttery.
